The
Chewstick Foundation
Begun
in the fall of 2002, Chewstick has been my baby and passion
for many years now. Best known for our open-mic jam sessions
which have become a staple in the Bermuda social scene,
routinely attracting audience and participants from every
walk of life. It's fun and entertaining, but it's major
purpose is to provide for artists to refine their abilities
and to break down the walls of social segregation in
the community. We've also taken the Chewstick model into
the prisons, schools and streets and have plans to continue
expansion into other mediums and regions.

Imagine
Bermuda
Imagine Bermuda began many years ago and is the brainchild of Mr. Glen
Fubler, a tireless social advocate since the early 70s. I first became
involved in 2006, resulting in my first anthem, "Imagine Bermuda",
in honor of this campaign. Bermudian society has become increasingly polarized
due to politics, and socio-economic realities or our citizenry. As a result
there have been several initiatives to combat this polarization, most of
which focus on the past. Imagine Bermuda chooses to learn from the past,
but strategize for a better future through discussion groups and inspired
events.

Middle
Passage Monument
The Middle Passage Monument is a project begun by Mr. Wayne James of
The U.S. Virgin Islands. The idea came to him in a dream where he met
his tormented ancestors lost at sea during the middle passage of the
African Holocaust. They were tormented because they had no proper burial
ceremony, even though it is the largest unmarked burial site in history.
The Monument was deposited in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean in 2003
and the first land monument replica is currently in USVI awaiting transport
and dedication in Bermuda, the closest point to the actual monument.

Bermudians
Against the Draft
B.A.D. for me began back in 1997 when i was first conscripted into the
Bermuda Regiment. At that time i was off to college so I was defered service
until my eventual return in 2002. At that time i successfully defended
my rights against the military tribunal, becoming a conscientious objector
and dedicating myself to ending this archaic abuse of power once and for
all. B.A.D. officially started in 2006 by Larry Marshall Sr. as a result
of his sons being conscripted. The legal claim is currently in process,
and we are actively fighting for the rights of all the conscripted.

Run
For Freedom
Run For Freedom began in 2007 by Ms. Charlotte Wilberforce great-great-granddaughter
of Sir William Wilberforce, the man who fought tirelessly in British parliament
to abolish the trans-atlantic slave trade 200 years ago. She has picked
up this fight to end modern slavery, estimated to be more widespread now
than then, in a campaign called Run For Freedom. On March 30, 2008 participants
ran and/or walked to raise funds and awareness in both Bermuda and London,
England to great success. Plans are currently in the works for subsequent
events and for the 2009 RFF.
